APA’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Calculator

The APA’s tool lets individuals and organisations estimate their greenhouse gas emissions and plan how to reduce them.

Data dashboard with carbon emissions indicators

The Portuguese Environment Agency’s (APA) Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Calculator helps individuals and organisations measure and manage their emissions. By entering data on energy consumption, transport and other activities, users obtain an emissions estimate, useful for environmental-impact reduction strategies and for monitoring progress on sustainability initiatives.

How it works

Users select the activities to include — electricity, heating, transport, waste — and enter quantitative data, such as consumption in kWh, distance travelled or waste volume. The calculator applies standard emission factors, based on scientific and statistical data, and generates a report with total emissions broken down by category, helping identify the main sources and opportunities for reduction.
