StartSimple carried out an Environmental Constraints Assessment for a solar PV plant in the Viseu district, Centre region, at a preliminary planning stage. The work assessed constraints such as the National Agricultural Reserve (RAN), the National Ecological Reserve (REN), water resources, cultural heritage, administrative easements and land use, using digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS). The analysis identified the most suitable zones for the plant and areas to avoid, supporting a faster and more sustainable permitting process.
