Major Constraints Study — Photovoltaic Hybridisation of a Wind Farm
Major constraints study supporting the photovoltaic hybridisation of a wind farm in northern Portugal.
StartSimple coordinated and prepared an Environmental Major Constraints Study (EGC) for a photovoltaic hybridisation process at a wind farm in northern Portugal. The study analysed the site's possible environmental restrictions, considering screening against current territorial management instruments and ecological and landscape factors, aiming to secure the project's environmental viability ahead of the Environmental Impact Assessment process.
The hybridisation, combining the existing wind generation with a new photovoltaic component on the same grid connection infrastructure, seeks to maximise the efficiency and stability of the energy supply.
Project highlights
- Analysis of the site's environmental constraints
- Screening against territorial management instruments
- Photovoltaic hybridisation of an existing wind farm
