Hydrological and Hydraulic Study for a Solar PV Plant — Centro Interior, Castelo Branco
Hydrological and hydraulic study for a solar PV plant in the Centro Interior, Castelo Branco district.
StartSimple prepared a Hydrological and Hydraulic Study for a solar PV plant located in the Centro Interior, Castelo Branco district, aiming to characterise the existing hydrographic network, assess the hydrological regime and propose management measures to ensure the project's sustainability. The work included surveying the watercourses in the intervention area, analysing the surface runoff regime, and identifying zones most vulnerable to flooding or erosion, using hydrological modelling, hydraulic assessment and thematic mapping.
Based on the results, mitigation measures were proposed, such as maintaining riparian buffer strips and implementing suitable drainage systems, ensuring compatibility between electricity production and the protection of water resources.
Project highlights
- Survey of the hydrographic network and surface runoff regime
- Hydrological modelling and hydraulic assessment of the site
- Mitigation measures to protect water resources
